The film we shooted was of 5 minutes but we cut that to 2 minutes video.

 Mise-en-scene Setting; Setting for the shoot was my house, my mother’s room and store room. Decor;  Here are some shots, how we set and decorate the room to match the film story character ; her accent and expressions look like she was abused. Costume; We made the character wear dark black clothes, representing the evil character. For the male character we used old clothes, as there was fake blood dripping. Makeup; We did makeup and made rumaisa look like she had scars, bruises. Lighting; Lighting was dull and dark in the background but on the character we used yellowish warm lighting.   The challenges we faced were when we had to meet. -My partner's house is very far away so it was really hard for us to meet up again and again to discuss the project and reshoot again and again. -Another challenge we faced was we had to find another actor because my sister had exams in the days we had to shoot and for us we didn't had much time left. We chose one of my friends but she was not suitable for our film so my team member rehab acted herself. -also we faced problems in managing time, some shots were of day time and in day time we had school, we also had to study other subjects.

Equipment needed were the things to make the atmosphere look like many things had happened before like harming themselves, fighting and the room looks like it is being used but it's very dirty like an abandoned room. other then camera, light and device for editing we used; -paints We used paints to make the fake blood. -Tissues  We used paints to drop blood on them so that it would look like someone has used tissues to clean the blood. -old empty trash like(bottles, tissues, wrappers) We used these old trash to through it on the floor to make the room messy -blankets and pillows We kept pillows and blankets unfolded to make the room more messy -Fake sleeping pills -dirty glass of water -knife -ropes To make knots and tie the character up in store room -chair

  -The most money we spended on was patrol as my team members' house was really far from my house so it was really hard to meet up daily at my place to work. -Second thing i spend money on was makeup, we buyed really expensive makeup to make realistic scars and bruises -Another thing was clothes, rehab had clothes that were dark but they had much work done on it like prints so we had to buy new really dark colored clothes for the film.

 My role was the camera work, and i was the director Other than camera work i had to control the light as we were only two in a group and at that time all my friends had exams so they coud'nt come to help us. Another important thing was i had to take care of continuity because in my previous cuts there was no continuity.  Moreover it was my house and rehab was invited to our house for the project so i had to take care of her if she needed something or she was hungry. I also had to take care of time, because she had to go back home on time.

 character description 1st character(main character)  Rumaisa; Rumaisa will have a dark side character, she is was not evil but as she became evil, she will have rude accent and sad and angry expressions. she have scars on her hands represents she has hurt her self and bruises on her face represents that she is abused by someone. she have messy hair means she didn't cleaned or brushed her hair many days ago. she have puffy eyes to show she didn't slept from many days.  Rumaisa's husband; he will only have bruises on his hands as he is roped, and he will be full in blood to represent that he is abused. His face will not be shown to create suspense towards audiences. kubra; kubra is not shown in the film but the film has her voice, her accent will be polite and sad towards rumaisa to comfert her and support her.

 KNOTS Our story starts from j cut, a conversation between 2 friends. Rumaisa the main character and Kubra her friend. The conversation between 2 friends is about one of them going through a lot of struggles after marriage to an older person and her friend is telling her to stay calm and comforting her that everything will be alright.  The shot starts from where rumaisa ends the call and takes sleeping pills to sleep. As she fell asleep she fell into a very bad dream in which her husband was fighting with her and abusing her. She wakes up crying and calls her friend Kubra and tells her that she cant take it anymore, she cuts the call and grabs a knife, she walks to a store room where she locked her husband, tying him with rope and a lot of knots.  This story basically explains that the fights and abusive behavior of rumaisas husband made rumaisa a psycho who even started hurting herself and hurt him and locked him in a store room. The scars on her hand showed that she hur...

 we changed the story a little bit  In our story there was scene of the lady went out to the park where a conversation tells the audiences that the people in society thinks that women is hitten and abused by her husband, we changed this script, we cut this scene into the scene where women fell a sleep and sees that she is abused in a dream. This idea made our story strong and interesting. 

 second discussion  When we started shooting our previous idea, we were struggling shooting because we couldn't find a suitable character for that..the character we choose had so many issues to come in front of the camera, we couldn't develop the character, we were not able to make real looking scars, and she was really bad in acting. We discussed our story again and in the second discussion we made a small change in story that instead of showing a psychopath we chose to show early marriages made the women crazy. 

 SELECTION OF GENRE For this narrative the genre we chose was suspense and thriller. We chose suspense to keep audiences deeply engaged in what is actually happening in the story as no one knows the real story behind the woman's scars and no one knows the truth. To show the truth we can create suspense in our idea to attract audiences towards the story and make it more interesting.

  MY TEAM DISCUSSION In the end I had no time to reshoot so I decided to work with someone and I asked rehab to work with me as she was struggling in a media project because of her partner. I became a pair with her and then we decided to work on her story. Her story was about a woman who was a psychopath(had scares on her face) who hurt herself but made the audience think that the scars she have shows that she is hitten by her husband. the story had two sides, one about the main theme, psychopaths, and another the abusive marriages This idea was for the adult audiences and this story was based on issues, people who are disabled, people who are psychopaths and they don't get any treatment. This idea had a moral for awareness of suicides, self harm and this issue also harms other people. This also gives a bad impression on society.

  As i shooted this narrative twice, my first cut was done half and when I started editing, I saw a lot of mistakes I made. There was no continuity, there was different lighting in every shot, and I cut many shots because of wrong angles and movements. Also the video was not even 2 minutes long. That day I decided to reshoot and i didnt show my cut to my teacher. When I reshoot the narrative again. It was much better than the previous one but in those camera shots and angles I couldn't explain to the audience the difference between the illusion and the reality. When I showed it to my teacher he told me there was no continuity and he advised me to shoot again so I could show the difference between the illusion and reality and o explain the story to audiences in a good way

  In this narrative I was lacking in shooting the best camera shots and angles, that time I had the best camera but I was not fully prepared and practiced for it. I took my sister for acting and she was the best at acting. Second character was my sister's friend and one of my friends came to give me the camera and he helped me holding the lights. My narrative was a bit complicated to shoot as I had to show the girl in illusion but on the other hand I had to show the reality. This was the main issue to shoot my narrative and i had no idea to shoot these camera shots. I shooted this story twice but there was no implementation. 

  What was my first narrative? My story started from where the girl went out for a walk waiting for her friend and she sees a cat, the cat was the illusion of the girl, in reality there was no cat. While the girl was playing with her illusionary cat her friend arrived. Her friend becomes shocked and asks her what she is doing so the girl wants her friend to see the cat and at that time she realizes that the cat she was playing with was her illusion. They both started walking and then I showed some dialogues between them to tell the audience that she has a disability and she goes to a therapist. Also in some crab shots i wanted to show they were holding hands As they both then reaches the end of the street, the girl sees a police car and two kids playing so she asks the kids what happened why is there a police car, the kids told her about the accident took place and explains the whole character about her friend who died in accident  She then sees beside her, walking with her fr...

pre production; idea and narrative First idea  My first narrative and idea was to work on the horror genre and suspense, where my story was about the people who live in illusion(see things which are not actually happening in real life). My idea had representation where age was young adults and teenagers, gender was a girl and the main thing was disability. This narrative was my solo work. This was showing audience the consequences on being delusional all the time as in today's generation this is a serious issue in our society. I took this idea from a film "Boo".

  Genre is read by the opening, from the music, setting, lightning or editing. for example jump scare musics at the start tells the film is horror, low dim light can represent horror, also it can be sad genre, music of film archives a number of things like it creates atmosphere, it establishes the setting, it  reinforces the narrative development. Other than music the settings can show the genre, setting with unreal things can be an action film or an abandoned area, an abandoned house represents the horror film, in suspense movies the characters are not shown at start, there are some hiding things about the character that audiences want to know about them. 

A quite place My favorite film opening was the opening of “the quiet place” which is a suspense film based on an evil man who can't speak but he is the most clever and powerful man. The film starts from where the man is pulling a dead body of a girl through his street which makes the audience see that the man is evil who killed people but actually in the movie the man faced a lot of hurdles and fighted with the thefts and frauds.

  What is a film opening? Film opening is the first scene of the first cut of the film, which is the very first impression on the audience. Our task is to create/develop a character, establish a location and unfold a narrative. We have to create an enigma, suspense in the film makes the audience take interest to watch the film, and makes the audience feel the suspense to see the ending of the film. Moreover, we have to create conventional titles for our film.

  In media studies, there is a group of 4 people where I had 2 people with me at first..with them I had many meetups and we changed many stories but in the end it ended up fighting and not sticking to one story so I stepped back and I started working solo. In this solo work I lacked continuity while I was doing camera work and I was really bad at editing, i actually found really good actors at that time but I needed someone to edit for me the best film opening. This wasted a lot of my time, then I thought about working with one of my friends and she is my partner who worked with me in this media project, “rehab fatima mir” I did the camera work and i was the producer where as rehab did the editing, acting and she was the story writer

As i am in AS media studies my course work is shoot a film opening of 2 minutes with my team, which contains 25 marks of my caie media studies, this film openning can be based on any genre like suspense and thriller, sad etc.. The first scene of a movie is called the opening scene or the opening shot. It is the first impression that the audience gets of the fim and is usually the most memorable part of the movie.

My introduction I am Anzala zahid from AS media studies in section G1,I take it and arts other than media where arts is my main subject. I didn't know much about media before i started taking classes but after i choose media studies i learned a lot about many different apps, shot angles, and editing elements
